On September 16th and 17th Bullivant Gallery will be hosting a very special exhibit by Portland based
artist and photographer Liz Obert. Liz’s work uniquely addresses bipolarism, the challenges of those affected by it,
and our cultural misconceptions. Through the use of photography and self exploration Liz creatively opens a window for all of
us to learn more. It is with the great pleasure that we have the honor to host the
St. Louis premiere of Dualities on Friday,
September 16th with an artist lecture and Q&A on Saturday the 17th. Please join
us for an unforgettable experience.
 – Robert Bullivant

Aiming to expose the hidden diseases of depression and bipolar disorder, Portland, Oregon photographer Liz Obert couples
double portraits of her subjects at both ends of their condition, handwritten descriptions beneath each describing where they are taken
in each state of mind. “Sufferers feel they must mask their symptoms in order to function in the outside world. I seek to give a glimpse to
the viewer,
about the internal lives of people who struggle with disorders that are often misunderstood.”
