America's Heartland Remembers 9/11

Hurt, healing and hope...

The America's Heartland Remembers 9/11 (AHR) memorial, which blanketed Art Hill in St. Louis with 2,996 American flags from Sept. 11-19 2011, touched countess visitors during its eight days on display.

Each personalized flag represented a life taken on Sept. 11, 2001. The flags were sold to individuals and corporations following the event, generating a $100,000 gift to the Missouri Friends of Injured Marines, a chapter of the national Semper Fi fund. The memorial was sponsored by Pace Properties, Castle Contracting, Guarantee Electric, Stock & Associates, Mid America Chevy Dealers and Edward Jones.

In 2012, AHR will produce a book of images and stories inspired by the Art Hill memorial. The book will describe the memorial's inspiration, creation and installation. It will also include stories about trips that some of the "Art Hill Flags" have taken to new homes all over the country.

In an ongoing effort to honor the victims, survivors and heroes who emerged on 9/11 and in the years since, AHR is offering a limited-edition museum-quality 24-by-32-inch compilation of images from the Art Hill memorial by accomplished photographer Tom Rollins and AHR's Rick Randall. All proceeds from the sale of this print will benefit The BackStoppers Inc.
