Venice, Italy 2017

Following up on the very successful “Cuba Project” in 2015, our Photographic dream-team will be reuniting for “The Venice Project” in February of 2017!

Join American photographer Stewart D Halperin, Lightroom expert Jeff Hirsch, and master printer Robert Bullivant for this magical voyage to Venice combined with a unique workshop experience that takes you from a week of photography in Venice to curating and editing your work back home after the trip, to printing and framing your images as part of a fine-art print workshop, and finally to exhibiting your photos as part of a fund-raising art show at the Robert Bullivant Gallery.

For over 40 years Stewart has been taking his cameras to Italy. For the past 15 years he has been leading photo trips to Venice with incredible reviews.

We will once again have with us photographer and digital imaging specialist Jeff Hirsch. Jeff combines two very special talents that are rarely found together – an understanding at the highest level of the organization and processing of digital images as well as a lifelong passion for the art of photography itself. His insights into digital photo workflow and managing your images during and after travel will be invaluable.

Our third musketeer is photographer and master printer Robert Bullivant who will lend his expertise and skills to the production and exhibition of fine art prints by each participant as the culmination of this entire experience.

The trip itself will include seven full days in Venice and the highlights include photographing the last two magical days of Carnival, a day trip to the colorful island of Burano, guided tours of major sites such as the Ducal Palace, San Georgio Maggiore and the Basilica San Marco. In addition you will discover numerous little-known spots tucked away in the maze of alleyways that is Venice.

We will be joined in Venice by the poetic, the eloquent and the number-one rated guide in Venice, Luisella Romeo. Luisella has joined Stewart the past few years and will astound you with her charm and insights about Venice – past, present and future.

Our time in Venice is only the first part of this unique workshop experience. Upon returning home, participants will take part in editing and curating sessions with Jeff to prepare their work for output, followed by a fine-art printing workshop led by Robert that culminates in each participant printing the best three photographs from their trip.

Finally, the prints will be matted and framed for a fund-raising art opening at the Robert Bullivant Gallery where your work will be seen by hundreds of visitors.
